DO I SHOP ONLINE OR BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

All orders are purchased and paid for prior to an appointment.  You can reach out to a franchise partner to send you an invoice or you may purchase the product from their online store.  You won’t be able to submit all the details with the online purchase.  Your franchise partner will reach out to you within 24-48 business hours to collect any missing information.
Once your purchase is made, you’ll need to arrange final details. If you make a purchase through the online store, your appointment session must be booked with this location.

*If you do not have a local franchise partner, you can purchase a DIY kit and one of our franchise partners will work remotely with you via video to help you with the success of your kit. Products that do not require an appointment but are recommended to book one:

Finger/toeprint or pet print Jewelry

  • Anyone can order one of our putty print kits and instructions however since our franchise partners have been working with putty for longer, if you have one near you, you’re recommended to book an appointment.

LifeCasting Kits – WP Creations includes one of our artists that will work remotely with you to ensure success

  • Our lifecasting kits kits are packaged with fresh materials making them easy to use.  In winter months, the acrylic sealer or pearl paint may not be usable if frozen.  You’ll have to use your own acrylic sealer or acrylic paint.

DIY Impression or Raised Impression Kits – WP Creations includes one of our artists that will work remotely with you to ensure success

  • Our DIY impression kits are packaged with fresh materials making them easy to use and reuse until it’s the print you desire.  With that being said, the impression material shouldn’t freeze, or it won’t be as easy to work with and the acrylic sealer we provide won’t be usable at all.  You’ll have to use your own acrylic sealer or acrylic paint.

Gift Cards

  • All gift cards are to be purchased only online however many of our individual locations will be able to provide you with a printed copy for you to transfer your GC # and msg onto.

Jewelry

  • Finger/toeprint jewelry as referenced above is best done in studio so our franchise partner can take the print for you.  However, if there is no franchise partner in your area or you enjoy being crafty, you can order a kit during the ordering process.
  • All of our other jewelry is super easy to order online.  Simply upload the picture you’re wanting on your pendant and let us do the rest.  You can also add notes in the comments if you feel we need a little more detail.

Inkless Print Kits

  • Have an inkless print kit shipped directly to your door and the best part is there is no inky mess left on your child’s hand or footprint and the shipping fee is on us!  Not sure how to take an ink print of your child’s hand?  Book an appointment with one of our franchise partners to have the print done on site.

Photo Crystals

  • Our photo crystals are super easy to order online.  Simply upload the picture of your choice during the ordering process.  Lower picture quality does not affect the quality of your crystal therefore you’re good to go if ordering photo crystals with your Facebook pics!
HOW LONG ARE THE APPOINTMENTS AND WHAT TIMES ARE AVAILABLE?

If you make an online purchase, you’ll receive contact from your artist within 24-48 hours to confirm your order and to book a session as necessary. Otherwise, you can connect with the artist to discuss what you’d like an and invoice will be sent. This process allows the artist to focus on the baby in creating the precious keepsake you’ve ordered thus reducing the appointment session. Sessions can be 30-60 minutes.

Most of our locations are home based therefore each of our franchise partners require you to contact them to book an appointment for the in person or DIY session.  Appointment times vary from one location to the next and are subject to change at any time without notice …. meaning when you’re arranging to come back for future keepsakes or pick-ups, the availability might have changed.  We’re parents juggling an amazing circus and there are times our act changes to accommodate our kiddo audience.  Always email us directly if you have concerns ????

Our products are precious, and a lot of time and care gets put into each piece.  It actually takes more time to complete products than to create them therefore appointment availability can often be limited.  We want to always ensure we are delivering the best quality and service possible therefore we will never see more clients than we can handle.

WHAT METHOD OF PAYMENTS DO YOU ACCEPT?

Our online stores accept most major credit cards.  Want to send an e-transfer? Email your franchise partner and ask for an invoice.  You’ll then see your receipt total to send an e transfer.

WHAT IS THE IDEAL AGE TO GET THE FOLLOWING PRODUCTS CREATED?

The question we like to ask you is “what you would like to have captured as a memory frozen in time for years to come.  Would you prefer having your child cast while their hands/feet are still very small, or would you like to capture a milestone”?  We have cast babies as young as 1 day old to adults at 86.  The choice is ultimately yours. …. There may, however, be size restrictions on certain styles of products.

Shadow Boxes/LifeCast Statues/Classic Mini with Casts: Casts for Shadow Boxes and LifeCasts can be done at any age. There may, however, be size restrictions on certain styles.  Most shadow box styles contain casts with children under 12 months unless you see it’s a sibling/family shadow box.
Please contact the LifeCasting Franchise partner closest to you, they will be happy to answer any of your questions.

Raised Impressions/Classic Mini with Impression: Hand prints for Raised Impressions up to 5 years of age; footprints up to 1 year old.

Jewelry – Fingerprint Pendants: any age.
Note: young children rarely have detailed fingerprints. As a rule, the younger the child, the smaller and less-detailed the print and the sooner it could fade.  We take a child’s toe print from birth up to 3 years (so we can capture their adorable ‘toe crinkle’) and their thumbprint at 3 years of age and over.
We can also work with ink prints if the person/child is not able to come in for an appointment.

Jewelry – Dog Tag Pendants: any age.
Note: Impressions often look different on Dog Tags as compared to other pendants; there is more surface area surrounding the print, therefore the overall look of the print when in a Dog Tag can look very different than a heart, oval, circle, star, or moon pendant.
We can also work with ink prints (of thumbprints) if the person/child is not able to come in for an appointment.

Jewelry – Handprint/Footprint Pendants: any age from newborn to seniors
Note: this pendant focuses more on the unique shape of one person’s hand or footprint.  Fine lines can often transfer through, but it depends on the quality of the ink print provided to us.
You can either provide us with ink prints or one of our franchise partners can take the ink prints for you.

Digital Prints: Any age as we use an ink print of someone’s fingerprint or hand/footprint (this does not work for toeprints)
Inkless Prints:
Our inkless print kits are amazing in that you can have an ink print created without the use of actual ink!  It’s a treated wipe and paper system that is used worldwide to capture child’s hands/feet and fingerprints.  This system can be used for any age as our kit includes an 8.5×11 inch paper so as long as your hand/foot fits within this size, you’re good to go.

DIY Impression Kits:
We’re super excited about our DIY Impression kits.  These can be done at any age however we recommend for children under 5 years of age.  Each kit initially comes with enough material to take 1 hand or foot impression for a child under 12 months.  If your child is older than 12 months, you can add a ‘refill’ kit to your initial kit purchase and additional impression material will be given to permit for the larger impression.  You may order sever ‘refill’ kits at time of purchase for either larger prints or several prints.
We realize the importance of capturing several special moments of your child’s growth.  Therefore, we will always encourage you to book an appointment with one of our lifecasting franchise partners to see what fabulous keepsakes they can create for you, but we also want you to be a part of these moments too.  This is why we have our DIY line so you too can create some of the fun

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT KEEPSAKES FOR PETS/ ‘FUR’ BABIES?

What keepsakes can be created for my fur babies?
We can create the following keepsakes:

  • Photo Crystals – online or in person
  • Personalized Jewelry of their paw or nose print – online or in person
  • Personalized Jewelry of their actual paw print – online or in person
  • Unframed Raised Impressions – Impression taken at select locations or materials shipped direct to you.
  • Framed Raised Impressions – Impression taken at select locations or materials shipped direct to you.
  • DIY impression kits – online or in person
  • Ink prints using our inkless print kit system – online or in person

Do all locations take pet impressions?
Not all of our locations are pet friendly and might not be able to take the impressions for you. Be sure to reach out ahead of time as you might have to pick up the materials to take your own print of your fur baby

Travel Fee?
In rare circumstances, a franchise partner might be able to travel to you for pet impressions.  Please ask what additional charges might apply.

IF MY PRODUCT REQUIRES A PICTURE, WHAT SHOULD I KNOW BEFORE?

I am ordering a Shadow Box/Framed Raised Impression with a picture, when is my picture required?
Ideally (in the perfect world), you will bring your picture with you at time of your appointment, this will ensure you will receive your product without delay.
Pictures are required within 3-4 weeks unless otherwise communicated.  Realize all our pieces are custom-ordered, therefore that your order cannot be moved further in the process and your frame is not typically ordered until we have your picture.

I am purchasing a Shadow Box/Framed Raised Impression, do you take the picture, or do I bring it?

When investing in a timeless keepsake such as a shadow box, it is important to choose a picture with which you’ll be pleased for years to come. We are not photographers and will not be taking your child’s picture. It is up to you to provide us with a picture of your choice; we will then custom-mount it into the frame and seal the back with a dust mat. If you don’t have your picture within 3-4 weeks, upon request, we can provide you with your frame and instructions on how to safely mount your photo once you have received it. Trust us, this is an easy process for you, and it allows your keepsakes to be safely kept in your home.

Why does the picture need to be ‘watermark free’?
Pictures with photographers’ watermarks will not be framed in any WP Creations’ product. This is proprietary to the photographer. You may be asked for a release of copyright should this scenario arise.

PRODUCT COMPLETION TIME FRAMES AND IMPORTANT DETAILS

How long does it take to receive the following items?
Unframed Raised Impression: up to 4 weeks

Why such long timelines for completion?

All our products are custom-made one-at-a-time, we take a lot of time and care to ensure they are detailed, cleaned, dried, and properly sealed for longevity.
For most items, we must place custom orders for supplies, mats, laser engraving, engraving plates etc.

What if I need my item sooner as it’s being presented as a gift?

If you need your items for an event that is sooner than completion time, reach out to your WP Creations franchise partner and ask for a cute poem to print and include in a card or you can wrap it up special in a box.

How long, after my order is completed, do I have to pick it up?

Because we want you enjoying your unique WP Creations item as soon as possible, and also because we cannot guarantee it’s safety if you leave it with us for an extended amount of time, items MUST be picked up within 3 weeks of completion.  Here’s the honest truth, because we’re home based with wee ones of our own, we need the space to fit new orders coming in.  So, help us out by picking up or order or having a family member or friend do so on your behalf.  Thanks a bunch! 🙂 Orders not picked up or completed within 6 months may be shipped back to head office. This is not ideal, and we’d love to avoid having you incur extra costs and risks associated with your product completion.

What happens if I do not pick my order up in time?

You are required to pick up your keepsake item within 3 weeks of its completion.  Pretty please…. 🙂
We will hate for anything to happen to your treasured keepsake if we have to move it from place to place while we create other customers’ orders; for this reason, we would really appreciate you picking up your items soon after they are ready.
WP Creation Franchise locations are not responsible for possible damages of items picked up after this deadline.  And in full transparency, we have items from families that have been with us for years because they haven’t been picked up or we haven’t received the picture to complete them.  However, we’re honoured we can treasure these items until families are ready for them, it just isn’t possible to keep them that long.
So, while we do our best to keep everything in tack, after 3-6 months, there really is no guarantee.  Especially if it’s been an item we have had for years and a new owner takes over, it’s not likely your item will still be available.  If it’s been a while since you picked up, contact the local franchise partner.

Can you ship a finished product through the mail?
We discourage shipping finished products as you risk extensive damage to your one-of-a-kind keepsake; damage that cannot be undone.
If you are moving to another city, please allow yourself enough time to come and pick up your WP Creations’ keepsake before relocating.
That said, we have shipped a few pieces and many local deliveries have shipped successfully  and those going overseas were broken.

I HAVE A PREVIOUS CREATION KEEPSAKES, IS THERE ANY GUARANTEE THAT MY NEW KEEPSAKE WILL LOOK EXACTLY LIKE MY OTHER ONES?

No two children are alike therefore no two keepsakes are alike. Suppliers, paints, materials, engraving options, and sizes change and evolve over time.

We cannot guarantee that your new keepsake will look exactly like the others.  In fact, it’s safe to say every keepsake will be different.

DO YOU TRAVEL TO MY HOUSE OR DO I COME TO YOU?

We offer two types of appointments. Remote sessions (virtual platforms) or in person appointments at our own locations.  Reach out to a franchise partner to pick the right appointment style for you.

REFUND POLICY

Since our keepsakes are handcrafted, each one is custom made and unique to the individual and therefore non-refundable. DIY is an amazing opportunity to be a part of the experience and it’s important to know that the quality may not be the same quality achieved from one of our WP Creations’ franchise partners.
Should there be any discrepancies with your order, be sure to let your franchise partner know within 24 hours of your purchase date. Should you not notify us of any discrepancies, and some are determined at a later time, you will be fully responsible for all costs associated with the required changes.

Online Orders: Should you receive your order, and it is not what you purchased, let us know within 48 hours of receiving it.  If we made a mistake with your order, we would make it right.
If there was a mistake when the purchaser placed the order, the purchaser can be refunded (less shipping) and the item must be returned at the purchaser’s expense. Once WP Creations has received the item, the refund will be processed within 7-10 business days.  New shipping charges might apply if new materials are sent out.

I’VE ALREADY HAD MY APPOINTMENT, IS IT TOO LATE TO REDEEM A COUPON/PROMOTION?

All coupons or promotions must be presented and redeemed at time of appointment and cannot be honoured after payment has been processed.  Sometimes promotions or coupons will appear after your appointment and however we respect the desire to want to redeem them, we cannot go back and edit our point of sale system to do so.

E-Gift Cards

HOW DO I PURCHASE AN E-GIFTCARD?

E-Gift Cards are conveniently purchased through online at WPCreations.com and you’ll be able to redeem them online for delivery anywhere in North America (excluding Quebec)
They are also valid in any of our Canadian studios (not redeemable in Quebec).  You’ll be able to print the e-gift card or email it directly to the recipient with a custom msg.
When you purchase your e-gift card, many of our Canadian locations have printed copies for you to transfer the GC code to. This makes them even nicer to include in your card 🙂
If purchasing an E-Gift Card in the U.S., you may only redeem it online.  Quebec: You must purchase your e-gift card directly from that location and it is only redeemable at that location so long as that owner is operational.

IS MY GIFT CERTIFICATE REDEEMABLE AT ANY LOCATION?

CAN THE E-GIFT CARD BE USED TOWARDS ANY PRODUCT?

Most definitely!  That being said, our LifeCasting and Raised Impression products require a session for the moulds to be taken. If these are the products that most excite you/the recipient, please be sure to check if there is a location available in that area prior to purchasing your E-Gift Card or the recipient can order a DIY kit from any location in which they will have the materials shipped to them. The good news with this is that they are not left alone, they will work remotely with an artist to achieve success! Trust us, this process has been amazing for many families.

HOW WILL I RECEIVE THE E-GIFT CARDS?

E-Gift Cards are sent via email to whichever email you key in the recipient box.  It is recommended that you send to yourself and then forward or print for the recipient.  They are only sold electronically through our WP Creations website. Many of our individual locations do have printed copies of the GC that they can provide you with.  Simply add the GC# and $ value to any printed GC and they’ll make a great addition to any card!

HOW DO I REDEEM MY E-GIFT CARD ONLINE?

Simply contact the franchise partner you want to work with and provide them with the e-gift card number. They will be will able to take your order and apply the e-gift card to your invoice.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THE E-GIFTCARDS TO BE SENT?

E-Gift Cards are system generated so they usually arrive in your inbox within a few minutes.  If there are payment delays with your credit card processor or with PayPal, this could be delayed further until the issue is resolved.  Be sure to check your spam or junk mail while you wait.  If you haven’t received it within 3 hours, please email info@wpcreations.com for immediate assistance.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T RECEVE THE E-GIFT CARD RIGHT AWAY?

Please check your junk box.  Technology can often be a wonderful thing but with a variety of email servers and filters, it’s not uncommon for any email to go to your junk box, especially if it’s the first time receiving an email from our WP Creations website.  If you find our email there, please click it and mark it as not junk so that your system knows we’re friends.  We find any Hotmail accounts find our firsts emails in their junk box so in this case, definitely send the E-Gift Card to yourself rather than the recipient.

ARE THERE ANY REFUNDS FOR E-GIFT CARDS OR ARE THEY TRANSFERRABLE?

Our refund policy does not include E-Gift Cards. Therefore, please be sure you’re most comfortable with the description/details of our E-Gift Cards prior to purchase.  Should you have any questions that weren’t answered, you may email us at info@WPCreations.com and we’ll be happy to help.
They are transferable so should you not have a use for your E-Gift Card, you may simply gift it to another family.  Since we have locations all across Canada and people love what we do, you’ll have no problem finding another family who would love this gift!
If you’re purchasing for someone who resides Quebec, the gift card cannot be honoured as it does not meet Quebec provincial requirements at this time.

HOW DO I PURCHASE A SHADOWBOX OR LIFECAST?

Visit our website wpcreations.com to see which keepsake is right for you. Then find a franchise partner/location you’d like to work with.  You may reach out to them and have an invoice sent to you or you may place your order online.  They will then reach out to you within 24-48 hours to gather remaining details and discuss our virtual vs in person appointment options
Live out of town? Our products are now available to anyone in North America.  We’ll provide you with the materials and a franchise partner who will work remotely with you until your product is complete.  You never have to do it yourself. Alternatively, you can also order our 3D digital casts made from your 2D images.

PRICING

Pricing varies depending on the age of the person.  Babies under 12 months are one price and children 13 months+ up to an adult may have a slighter higher price. This is due to the amount of additional material required as well as the number of times we might have to recast to receive a quality mould. Please speak to your franchise partner for pricing information.

DIY LIFECASTS AND SHADOWBOX FAQ

Will my DIY life casts have the same quality as a WP Creations franchise partner?  Half of the fun is the experience in creating beautiful keepsakes of your own kiddos.  It’s fair to say that even though you’re supported by the franchise partner you purchased the DIY kit from, the quality of your product will not have the same look as a franchise partner with the full experience and training that they have.  If quality is of huge concern, we recommend you refrain from purchasing the DIY kit and booking an appointment at one of our locations.

What if I don’t like how the quality turned out?  Always have this honest conversation with your WP Creations franchise partner prior to any framing or mounting of your casts.  There may be options to purchase additional moulding material to support you during this time.

What kinds of supports are available to me during the DIY process?  Our franchise partners can arrange pick up, delivery or shipping of materials to you depending on schedules and where you reside.  They will provide you with easy to use online booking tools to set up these dates and to set up your virtual appointment session where they can be with you through video while you take the moulds of your child’s hands and feet.  They will then continue to guide you with next steps on how your product gets completed.  If you’re local, you’ll simply need to get the moulds back to us that same day and we’ll do the rest of the work!  If you’re out of town, we will continue to offer guidance on the pouring, cleaning etc. process.  Framing is also an option for people out of town.  We even have a DIY support area under our About Us and Videos & Resources section for you to review for extra guidance

Can I order just the casting material? Yes you may just purchase the kit to start.  In the event you are not satisfied with your casts, you may keep the unfinished casts as is.  In the event you love your casts because you are taking them is what makes them extra special, you may have them framed in a shadow box or mounted on granite. The online store you shopped at should provide you with just the frame option during the ordering process.  If you need assistance, reach out to the franchise partner that has been supporting you.

Can I order just the frame? Yes you may visit any of these online stores and order just the frame. It will come complete, and you simply need to pry back the framing points to get to the back mat.  The back mat is where you’ll attach any of your own DIY items.

3D DIGITAL CASTS (MADE FROM 2D IMAGES) FAQ

What material are the 3D digital casts made of? These casts are made in a stone/cement like material that are similar our other 3d lifecasts.
Is the detail the same as the original lifecasting process? The fine detail will not show in the 3d digital process however most major lines are visible. Even if the image renders some finer detail, when created, the 3d digital cast won’t always print the finder details.

Should I order a lifecasting kit instead of a 3d printed cast? This is a great question. Our lifecasting kits have been quite successful however they are more work and leave more room for error. When you’re able to achieve success with your lifecasting kit, the detail and accuracy of the casts are far greater than a 3D digital printed cast. We always recommend 1. To book an appointment with one of our artists if you’re local or able to make the drive 2. Order a lifecasting kit and you’ll have a virtual session with one of our artists to help you with the success of our kit or 3. If you’re more about capturing the size of your child’s print at that moment, then our 3d digital casts are just fine to achieve that.

Will the size of the 3D printed cast be identical to my child’s? The 3D digital casts are a close proximity to the actual size however due to the digital nature of the product, there will be small variations.

How do I order a 3D digital printed cast? You can contact any of our artists in any Canadian province and they can have your order printed and shipped. You’ll even be able to have your cast made into any of our lifecast products, shadow boxes and wooden name designs.

What is the maximum age for a 3D digital printed cast? It is currently one year of age. We are exploring options of older children and adults however for the time being, we are beginning this newer process with babies.

Why is this 3D digital cast more expensive than the original lifecasting process? Because we are rendering 2D images into 3D models, there are special artists hired for this digital process. In addition to the rendering, the cast then needs to be digitally created, shipped etc.

What do we need to provide you with to have the 3D digital cast created? We need pictures of the front back and both sides of your baby’s hand and/or preferably in the same pose for each picture. We understand babies don’t always stay still so sleeping might be best or just do you best with the photos you’ll submit. You’ll also take a ruler and measure the top of their middle finger/toe to an inch past their wrist/ankle as well as measure the left of their hand/foot to the right of their hand/foot (thumb/big toe and pinky finger/little toe included) Lastly, we ask that you measure the base to the tip of each finger. You’ll submit these measurements in the ordering process.

What if we want to frame our cast, will the cast come whole, or will it be sanded? You can order it whole or sanded depending on what you’d like to do with your cast. The price remains the same.

Will the image be exactly like the photo? Due to the rendering of the image, we have found that some of the fingers or toes that were curled, don’t have the same curled effected when created. Our original lifecasting process captures the exact position, size, and details. Therefore, your 3D digital cast will not always be printed exactly as shown in your photos.

Do I get to see a proof of my image before I place my order? Yes you can approve a proof prior to having your 3D digital cast created.

Can the 3d printed cast break? Yes if dropped any of our casts can break and will likely break.

Are there any other colors to print in or only white? We only print in white at this time but in possible in the future, we may have other options.

What else should I know about the 3D digital casts? They are hollow to help keep the cost of your casts within a reasonable price point.

How long does it take to receive my 3d digital cast? Usually, 2-4 weeks depending on volume and shipping times. This could be subject to change in busier seasons.

Shadow Boxes/LifeCast Statues/Classic Mini with Casts: Casts for Shadow Boxes and LifeCasts can be done at any age. There may, however, be size restrictions on certain styles.  Most shadow box styles contain casts with children under 12 months unless you see it’s a sibling/family shadow box.

Raised Impressions/Classic Mini with Impression: Hand prints for Raised Impressions up to 5 years of age; footprints up to 1 year old.
Jewelry – Fingerprint Pendants: any age.
Note: young children rarely have detailed fingerprints. As a rule, the younger the child, the smaller and less-detailed the print.
We take a child’s toe print from birth up to 3 years (so we can capture their adorable ‘toe crinkle’) and their thumbprint at 3 years of age and over.
We can also work with ink prints if the person/child is not able to come in for an appointment however this is only for thumbs (maybe fingers if the person is older) and does not work with toeprints.

Jewelry – Dog Tag Pendants: any age.
Note: Impressions often look different on Dog Tags as compared to other pendants; there is more surface area surrounding the print, therefore the overall look of the print when in a Dog Tag can look very different than a heart, oval, circle, star, or moon pendant.
We can also work with ink prints if the person/child is not able to come in for an appointment.

Note: this pendant focuses more on the unique shape of one person’s hand or footprint.  Fine lines can often transfer through, but it depends on the quality of the ink print provided to us.
You can either provide us with ink prints or one of our franchise partners can take the ink prints for you.
Digital Prints: Any age as we use an ink print of someone’s fingerprint or hand/footprint.

Inkless Prints:
Our inkless print kits are amazing in that you can have an ink print created without the use of actual ink!  It’s a treated wipe and paper system that is used worldwide to capture child’s hands/feet and fingerprints.  This system can be used for any age as our kit includes an 8.5×11 inch paper so as long as your hand/foot fits within this size, you’re good to go.
Have your own prints already taken? Great! Simply email them to your closest franchise partner and let me know what keepsake you’d like to have created.

DIY Impression Kits:
We’re super excited about our DIY Impression kits.  These can be done at any age however we recommend for children under 5 years of age.  Each kit initially comes with enough material to take 1 hand or foot impression for a child under 12 months.  If your child is older than 12 months, you can add a ‘refill’ kit to your initial kit purchase and additional impression material will be given to permit for the larger impression.  You may order sever ‘refill’ kits at time of purchase for either larger prints or several prints.

Can I add glass to a Classic Mini frame?
No, this frame has been designed to have no glass so that you can touch and feel the casts.  If you want glass, I recommend ordering a single window shadow box.

How long will my appointment be?
Most appointments are typically 30-60 minutes.

How should a baby be?
Having baby a little more relaxed can help with your WP Creations’ experience. Therefore, following some of the suggestions below will make your experience with us even more amazing.

  • Plan to have your baby arrive a little sleepy (but not overtired)
  • Perhaps waking the baby earlier in the morning or from a nap, and/or bathing him/her before you come might be helpful if you’re willing
  • If there is a favourite toy or rattle for your baby, please bring that too as it can be very helpful as a distraction
  • Feeding baby during a lifecasting appointment is the best distraction for the casting process.
  • I appreciate your understanding in possibly altering his/her regular schedule for the appointment.  Having baby calm during casting will ensure we get as detailed of prints as possible, and will avoid having to book a second appointment, which may be necessary if detailed casts are not achieved. Similarly, we may have to look at other comparable keepsakes if attempts at good casts are unsuccessful.
  • Please trim your child’s nails prior to your arrival

How long will my child have to remain still?
Remember, we are trained professionals and have mastered the art of capturing prints of wiggly hands and feet.
Our system of capturing prints and our unique mold material (free of dye or perfume) will make the process easier than you may think.
We will guide you and your child through the process and we will work with you to ensure we capture the best print possible.

My baby/child moves a lot and won’t sit still. Will you still be able to cast them?
Yes, as Canada’s original baby LifeCasting company (since 2001), we have plenty of experience working with babies and children.
In other words – we know what we are doing! If we’re unable to capture the quality piece at your first appointment, we will call you back to try again (although it is rare that we wouldn’t be able to capture your child’s prints at their initial appointment)

I would like an open/closed hand or open/curled toes, is this possible?

There is no way to control the positioning or final placement of the child’s hand or foot. Babies are unpredictable, by nature, and will move freely in our mold material until the “30-second setting period.” The child’s hand/foot position at this ‘set time’ time will determine its final position. The same holds true for our raised impressions.  Sometimes the fingers or toes are placed closer together and sometimes they are spread apart.
Although we will try our best, as mentioned above, there are no guarantees on hand/foot placement or positioning.  After all, this is what makes it unique to your baby.
For this reason, we cannot offer refunds based on things that are out of our control.

Is your moulding material safe?

The moulding material we use is made exclusively for us; it is a comfortable ‘bathwater warm’ temperature, free of dyes and perfumes, and safe to use on baby’s delicate skin. The hand or foot will be in the (bathwater warm) mold material for approximately 60 seconds in total.
During that time, the child can wiggle and move for the first 20-30 seconds, after which a setting process occurs which turns the liquid into a gel-like solid.
When mold material starts to set, we strive for as little movement as possible in order to capture lots of detail.
During the ‘setting time’ (which lasts approximately 6-10 seconds) we will distract your child until the mold sets to a soft rubber texture.
Remember, even while setting, the temperature is comfortably warm, often young babies do not notice or mind.
After the mold is set, we gently remove the hand or foot from the mold – and your part is done.

What clothing should we wear?
Even though our moulding material comes off extremely easy from baby and children’s delicate skin, it tends to adhere to anything that is porous.  So please neither parent nor child should wear their best attire. Nor should you bring any facecloths or blankets that are your favourite just in case they should come into contact with our material.
If I’m ordering a LifeCast Statue, what colour/style of granite do you offer?
Every piece of granite, as the Statue it is holding, is unique, no two pieces are alike.
Colours and sizes will vary by location. Please let your local WP Creations’ representative know if you prefer a light or dark colour, as well as a larger or smaller piece of granite. They will do their best to accommodate you, however there is never an exact match.

Do you ship your castings away to be made?
We are proud to say we create all of our castings on-site in our studios and workshops.
This way we can spend careful time and attention on each one as required.
Professional framing is also done on-site.

I have previous WP Creation keepsakes, is there any guarantee that my new keepsake will look exactly like my other ones?

No two children are alike therefore no two keepsakes are alike.  Suppliers, paints, materials, engraving options, and sizes change and evolve over time.
We cannot guarantee that your new keepsake will look exactly like the others.  In fact, it’s safe to say every keepsake will be different therefore there are no refunds on any keepsake which is deemed a quality piece by our head office.

If I’m purchasing unmounted casts or a LifeCast statue, how do I protect them?

Cleaning: When cleaning it is recommended to lightly dust using a cloth or duster.  Avoid applying any water or cleaning products to the casts as this can cause them to turn mouldy & deteriorate.
Framing: Discolouration can happen overtime especially if not mounted behind glass in a frame.  Therefore, the best way to prevent this is to have them mounted in a frame with glass.
Finishing: Our castings come in three finishes; Natural, Sealer and Pearl
Natural Finish: There is no protective coating on the product.  Therefore, if it comes in contact with water or a water substance you run the risk of damaging the product either through deterioration or causing the product to become mouldy.
Cleaning – Recommended to use a duster or dry cloth
Sealer Finish: Over time if exposed to direct sun the casts could run the risk of turning yellow.
Best to keep your product out of the direct sunlight as well as avoid contact with water or water substances you run the risk of damaging the product either through deterioration or causing the product to become mouldy.

Can my unframed Raised Impression break?

Unframed raised impressions are similar to a ceramic keepsake, and we all know, if dropped, they can shatter.
You can frame it at the time of the appointment, this not only helps reduce your overall costs = you save money! but also reduces the risk of your treasured keepsake getting broken. Don’t risk having your precious keepsake broken as your heart might just shatter too 🙁

How long will my appointment be?
Most appointments are typically 15 minutes. The impressions take only a few seconds, and the rest of the appointment is discussing how you want your keepsake customized. Handprint/Footprint/Digital print/Kids Designs/ Your Notes/Drawings/Soundwaves/Sonograms can be done without an appointment

How detailed will the print on my necklace be?

Each of our Silver Print pendants is hand-crafted, therefore no two pieces are alike.
The print you receive will be YOUR loved ones prints captured at the time of your appointment.
It is important to remember that each piece is unique – just as each child and child’s print is unique.
Since your child’s print is unique to them, and no two are alike; therefore, the amount of detail that comes through in the print will vary, both from child to child, as well as differ when comparing children at different ages.
In general, the rule of thumb is: the younger the child, the less-detailed the print.
Having said that, however, we have seen younger babies with very detailed prints, and older babies with very little detail in their prints.
While there is no way to guarantee detailed lines, we can guarantee to capture the shape and grooves and crevices of your child’s print at time of your appointment.

What if my necklace comes back with very little print?

As explained above, there is no way to guarantee a detailed print on your pendant or for your pendant to look exactly like others.
Remember however, the pendant you receive will be that of your child and it will reflect your child’s individuality.
For this reason, as I am sure you can understand, we cannot offer refunds on jewelry.

Can the prints fade over time?

While we would like to say no, we have found on a few rare occasions this has happened.  Very fine prints and pendants that are exposed to certain elements can fade over time.
We recommend you not sleep with your pendant on, don’t shower with it, avoid swimming pools, hairspray, perfume etc.
Dark Pendants: Please do not clean the pendant with jewelry cleaner as this will remove the wax coating and oxidizing.  Only use the jewelry cloth that is provided at time of purchase.
Shiny Pendants: If you ordered a shiny unoxidized pendant, then you can go ahead and use jewelry cleaner as the natural oxidizing that occurs overtime will yellow your pendant

Can I wear my necklace all the time? (All day every day)

In the many years we have been selling jewelry we truly find one person’s experience completely different than the rest. Therefore, it’s safe to say, the more you treasure it and not expose it to chemicals, fragrances, and friction, the more vibrant it will remain. Wearing your jewelry often does prevent tarnishing, which is a good thing, but it also exposes it to more of nature’s elements which can wear it down overtime.

Do you take the prints for the pendants?

For our toeprint/fingerprint jewelry, we take the print in our studios, or alternatively you can order a putty kit to take the print yourself. The kits can be purchased in studio or online at wpcreations.com.  If you only have an ink print of the person you want on the pendant, we can work with that too.
For our handprint/footprint jewelry, you can either provide us with an ink print, order an inkless print kit, or we do offer ink printing services in studio using an inkless print process.

Will the Swarovski Birthstone Crystals cause any damage to the Fingerprints, Inkless prints, or designs?

The Birthstones will sway on the pendant and therefore cause the prints or designs to fade where the friction occurs.
I have previous WP Creation keepsakes, is there any guarantee that my new keepsake will look exactly like my other ones?
No two children are alike therefore no two keepsakes are alike.  Suppliers, paints, materials, engraving options, and sizes change and evolve over time.
We cannot guarantee that your new keepsake will look exactly like the others.  In fact, it’s safe to say every keepsake will be different therefore there are no refunds on our products.

When will my product be completed and when must I pick it up by?

Finger/toeprints: completed in 6 weeks
Hand/footprints: completed in 6 weeks
Kids Designs/Your Notes-Drawings/Sound Waves/Sonograms: completed in 6 weeks
Digital prints: completed in 6 weeks
If purchased through our online store, we can ship directly to you.  If purchased in studio, all items MUST be picked up within 3 weeks of being notified they are completed.

BEFORE MY PURCHASE, WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT INKLESS PRINTS OF MY CHILD’S HANDS/FEET?

Can my inkless prints fade?
Yes the prints have been known to discolour over time, but the good news is, if you prefer to keep them grey or black, you can photocopy them.

Is the Inkless Print safe for my child?

Yes, they are commonly used throughout the world in police stations, hospitals, and birthing centers etc. This company became the exclusive provider of fingerprint materials for the National Child Identification Program in 2005.
They were also distributed through American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and the National Children Identification Program to distribute child identification kits to families.

Can I use your Inkless Prints as a tattoo?

This is subjective, and we suggest showing your inkless print to your tattoo artist to see if it meets the details they require.

Will the Inkless Print fade over time?

Typically these prints do not fade overtime however we do recommend avoiding leaving them in direct sunlight.

What can I do with my Inkless Prints?

Inkless prints can be used as a keepsake on their own or you can turn your inkless print into one of our products.  Currently we can create a sterling silver necklace pendant or dog tag with your prints or have them capture in one of our Crystal products

What if my kit is not successful?
We factor in a few things with each of our kits. 1. you’ve never done this before and that is why we give you a practice bag of material 🙂 2. your baby might not be in the best of moods so that is why we give you a virtual franchise partner to guide you on how to manage your baby during the process.  You always have the option to purchase extra material either at the time of initial purchase or at a later date.  Want my opinion? Purchase a few extra bags in the beginning because you’ll never be disappointment in having a few extra casts. There are no refunds because to be honest, the process just works…. based on those that include us in the process 🙂

How does the process work?

Regardless of whether you want a frame or not, we begin with the lifecasting process.  You determine how many hands and feet you would like, place your order with a franchise partner closest to you or within your province and once you receive the kit, you book a virtual appointment with our franchise partner to have your moulds created.

Can I have my casts framed?

Yes, this is a unique process because once your life casts turn out as useable casts, you can place an order with your same franchise partner. They will go through the styles and sizes we have available.  Once your frame arrives to your home, your franchise partner will guide you on how to mount your casts and reseal your frame.

Can this kit be used for any age?
For now we are recommending these kits be used for 12 months and under.  If you have a slightly older baby who is smaller than the average baby, the containers might still work for you.  Please speak with ours franchise partner for more information.

Be honest, what should I really know about this kit’s success?
You must realize that the kits are successful to people who are fully committed to making it work.  You need two people for the process and each person must be a fully willing candidate. We find it more challenging for families if the second assistant in this process is not committed or excited to see the product being created.  Also, it’s so important to follow the steps the franchise partner tells you. However, tempting it might be to do it your own way, it’s really not recommended.

Can I redeem my coupon for a kit?

When we ship an out of town kit, there is actually more work involved for our franchise partner to work with your family in creating this precious keepsake. Therefore, it is rare for a coupon to be included in this special process.  You’ll have to speak with your franchise partner to see if it will qualify.

Well the good news is, our materials are sent fresh therefore if you’ve left your container well sealed before you begin, you’ll be able to re roll it, flatten it, and try again until you receive the desired impression.  There are no refunds because to be honest, the process just works…. based on those that include us in the process 🙂

BEFORE MY PURCHASE, WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT THE DIY IMPRESSION KITS?

Is the DIY impression kit safe for my child?
Our impression material has been used in our franchise system for over 10 years at almost 40 locations across Canada.  However, we don’t recommend your child eat the material and we do recommend you seal it with the provide acrylic sealer or a sealer of your choice.

When should I purchase an impression kit?

Our materials are fresh and therefore should be purchased no sooner than 1-2 months before they are used.  We also recommend if you’re ordering online, you make sure it won’t freeze during delivery.  Therefore, it might be best to avoid winter months. If it does freeze, we can help you work with your impression material (see question about freezing below) but you will have to pick up a local acrylic paint or sealer for the impression.

Can I take an impression of my older child?

Impression kits are recommended for 5 years and younger however the older the person, the more material you’ll need to offset the larger size of print. You’ll also risk your impression breaking if it’s too thin. We recommend handprints up to 5 years of age and footprints up to only 1 year of age.

Can I take an impression of my child’s hand and foot together or my two children together?

Yes you can.  It gets a little tricky but because you are hand carving your impression material, it can be made to your required size.  Just be sure to order enough impression material refill kits for the age of your child/children. We do recommend that this only be done for 5 years of age and younger and that you don’t flatten your material too much or you’re at risk of snapping the impression.

What happens if I didn’t use my impression kit in time and the material has hardened?

You can boil some water and just add a quarter of a teaspoon of boiling water to the bag of impression material.  Seal it tightly and knead it in for approx. 30 seconds.  Wait 24 hours and see if your material is soft enough.  If it isn’t soft enough, repeat the steps until the desired softness is obtained.  If the material is too soft and sticky, flatten it and let it sit out for 10-15 minutes before you take your impression.

What happens if my impression kit freezes?

You’ll have to drain out the water from our impression material and mix the impression material with your hands for about 2-5 minutes.  Your sealer will not be useable, and you’ll have to obtain your own acrylic sealer or paint. Therefore, it’s recommended not to leave it in vehicles overnight during colder weather nor is it recommended to order online.

What happens if my impression kit doesn’t turn out?

The great news is with a WP Creations impression kit you can re roll your impression material and re do your impressions until you’re satisfied with it! That’s the advantage of having fresh materials to work with. 🙂

Can I take an impression of my pet?

Sure you can!  You might want to upgrade your kit depending on the size of the pet.  See product description for details or click here for our pet kit option
Can I hang my impression after completion?
Yes you can but we do not recommend that it drops as it will break.  Perhaps order a few refill kits and make a few impressions.  Some to hang, some to give as gifts, and some to put back in the box it came in to tuck away with your child’s memory box.

Can my impression break?

Yes it can break if dropped or if too much pressure is applied to it after creation. You’ll also want to ensure you don’t flatten your material more than is recommended or you risk it snapping. Perhaps order a few refill kits and make a few impressions.  Some to hang, some to give as gifts, and some to put back in the box it came in to tuck away with your child’s memory box. We are not able to offer repairs on broken impressions.

Can my impression be framed by a WP Creations franchise partner?

Our DIY kit impressions cannot be framed in any of our frames.  When you visit one of our franchise partners, you can have them create a raised impression of your child’s hand/footprint or pet print and then having it framed. Some size restrictions apply.

Are there any refunds on kits?

No DIY is custom to how you work with it. They do not look like our other WP Creations products.   If you’re looking for one of our WP Creations keepsakes, please book an appointment with a franchise partner nearest you.

Photo Crystals

HOW DO I PURCHASE PHOTO CRYSTALS?

You can order your crystals through a franchise partner location, or you can order from their online store.

BEFORE MY PURCHASE, WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT PHOTO CRYSTALS?

What size picture is required?
Low quality (500KB- 1MB) photo is required
Since the latest technology is used to produce stunning, detailed photos, we are able to use low resolution pictures for the conversion into any crystal piece.

What kind of images should be sent?

Photos with special effects are not generally recommended as they have the potential to show up as a white mark on any of the 2D Crystals – keychains and ornaments.

Does skin color affect the quality or ability to create the crystal?

Skin color plays no role in altering the quality of your crystal keepsake

When will my product be completed and when must I pick it up by?

Any crystal product: completed in 4 weeks
All items MUST be picked up within 3 weeks of being notified they are completed.
You can also request that your crystal will be shipped directly to your home.

Other ‘Artwork’

CAN YOU DUPLICATE OR FRAME HANDS AND FEET THAT I HAD PREVIOUSLY CREATED?

If it is a previous WP Creations (formerly Wee Piggies & Paws) keepsake, then yes we can often frame or duplicate the items.
If you’ve created your own casts or impression or someone else had created them for you, we may be able to frame or duplicate the items.
In either scenario, we will want to know where the items were originally created and what you’d like done with them.  Once we have more information, we will be able to give you an answer.  Current product rates will apply regardless of if you’re bringing back items to be framed.
Please note that in the event we fear your artwork is at risk if we work with it, we have the right to refuse to create your additional keepsake.  We value the keepsakes you have and will not intentionally put those items at risk.
In the event that you do decide to move forward with WP Creations duplicating and or framing your ‘artwork’, we will require you to sign a waiver and release.  Failure to sign this results in us not being able to move forward.  If you’d like more information, you may email info@wpcreations.com
