Working from Home – Jessyca’s Journey
We’ve gone through some incredible changes as a company over the last few months. Our business model has changed, the way we create keepsakes have changed (LINK to other articles) and despite so much upheaval we have had so many opportunities to shine. Many of the changes have been positive and have even strengthened what we do as a team and have given us direction on how to level up the company altogether!
One of the things we have enjoyed the most is having our clients become a part of the process creative. Jessyca’s story begins in a way unprecedented by any other franchisees.
Before moving to Kingston, Jessica had previously visited one of our other locations in Eastern Canada, with her first child. In fact, it was her husband who stumbled upon the company in introduced it to his wife. They had their keepsake made and much like many of our clients, kept WP Creations (at the time it was Wee Piggies and Paws) in the back of their minds for when the time came to bring their future children.
Fast forward to earlier this year, now in Kingston, ON and wanting to have a keepsake of their second child done to match their first one, they booked an appointment with an out of town artist as there was no one in her area. Lo and behold, Covid19 hit and our world was on lockdown and all appointments were canceled.
When the artist she had booked with called her a little while later to let her know about the contact free/virtual session offer, Jessyca was hesitant at first. It was a completely different business model, different than she had previously experienced and with it being so new, how would she know if it would be worth it?
She and her husband discussed it and in the end decided to give it a try. It took a couple of tries to get just the right cast, and she credits the artist for being so patient and accommodating to her and her family.
After such a successful appointment and a positive experience, she and her husband discussed the idea of possibly owning a franchise locally. There was no one in the area, she saw a need, and her experience with the virtual appointment made everything click. She realized that even with going back to work full time in Septemeber once her maternity leave was up, she would still be able to work her franchise and see clients virtually when necessary.
She followed the steps to learning more about owning a franchise and she and her husband are now the proud owners of Kingston WP Creations!
Jessyca states that the support she has received and the abundance of information has made her feel supported and never alone. She understands she is part of a team and is looking forward to learning, growing and bringing what she has to offer to this company.
We are so excited to have her here!
